Modern Slavery Policy and Statement

Last updated: 19 October 2026

Approved by Julius Schoenfeld and Eiza Fiel Tampus, co-founders

Purpose and scope

Team Up Now does not tolerate modern slavery in our business or our supply chain. That includes forced labour, debt bondage, deceptive recruitment, servitude and human trafficking.

We are under the $100 million revenue threshold in the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth), so we are not required to report. We publish this statement voluntarily because our clients rely on us to employ their offshore team members fairly.

This policy covers:

  • Team Up Now Pty Ltd (Australia)
  • Team Up Now OPC (Philippines), the legal employer of our placed staff
  • Our own staff, placed staff and candidates
  • Recruiters, suppliers and contractors who work with us

Our business and where the risks sit

We are an Employer of Record. Team Up Now OPC directly employs Filipino professionals who work for Australian businesses. Staff are employees on Philippine payroll with government contributions, HMO cover and 13th month pay. They are not freelancers or contractors.

Read more about how our Employer of Record model works and our approach to Fair Work compliance.

Our offices are in Cebu and Makati, and many staff work from home. Our main supply chain is small: recruitment, office space, health insurance, payroll software, IT equipment and professional services.

The risks we watch most closely in offshore staffing are:

  • Recruitment fees or costs passed on to candidates
  • Pay that is late, short, or reduced by deductions
  • Long hours or night shifts to cover Australian business hours
  • Pressure that stops someone from resigning
  • Roles that differ from what was offered
  • Practices in our suppliers that we can't see directly

Our commitments

These apply to every person we recruit or employ.

  1. Employer pays. Our recruitment fee is charged to the client. Candidates never pay us or any recruiter a fee, deposit or cost to get a job, including for tests, medicals or equipment.
  2. Clear contracts. Every employee gets a written contract in English before they start. We explain it and answer questions. The role, pay and hours match what was offered.
  3. Pay on time and in full. Salaries are paid on schedule through our payroll system. Every payslip shows gross pay, contributions and deductions. Deductions are only those required by law or agreed in writing.
  4. Documents stay with the employee. We never hold anyone's passport, ID, certificates or bank cards.
  5. Reasonable hours. Hours are set in the contract and follow Philippine labour law. Night shift differential and overtime are paid. Staff get rest days and leave, and we step in if a client expects unpaid or excessive hours.
  6. Free to leave. Anyone can resign with the notice in their contract. We use no bonds, training cost clawbacks or penalties to stop people leaving.
  7. No retaliation. No one is punished for raising a concern.

Suppliers and subcontractors

We expect our suppliers to meet the same standards. Any outside recruiter we use must confirm in writing that they charge candidates nothing.

We keep a list of our key suppliers and share it with clients on request. We review it each year and raise concerns with any supplier where we see a risk. If a supplier won't fix a serious issue, we stop using them.

Raising concerns

Anyone can raise a concern, including employees, candidates, clients and suppliers. They can contact our Head of Operations or either co-founder directly, in person, by email or by message. Concerns can be raised anonymously.

We acknowledge every concern within two business days and keep it confidential. If we find a problem, we fix it for the person affected first. That can mean back pay, refunding any fee paid, changing hours or ending a client or supplier relationship.

Email [email protected] with the subject 'Concern' to raise an issue.

Responsibility and review

The co-founders own this policy. The Head of Operations runs it day to day. Recruitment and HR staff are trained on it when they join.

We review this policy every year, and again when the Australian modern slavery reforms are finalised.
